Matteo Berrettini defined his experience of watching himself in the Netflix documentary series based on tennis, ‘Break Point’. In this documentary some of the most popular tennis professionals are featuring. The fans get to learn about some aspects of personal lives of their favorite players.
However, Matteo Berrettini found it very strange as he was featured in the second episode of the documentary with his then girlfriend Ajla Tomljanovic. The Netflix camera crew chased the players during their 2022 season on the tour. At that time, both the Italian and the Australian were dating each other.
Since then, however, both the players decided to split. However, he also added that he was quite happy on his portrayal in the series.
“For days the cameras filmed my emotions, joys and disappointments. Seeing each other again was strange because my ex (Ajla Tomljanovic) is also in the series, but I’m happy with how they represented me,” the Italian told in a recent interview with the fashion magazine Style.
Following the split, Matteo Berrettini is dating Italian sports presenter Melissa Satta.

Matteo Berrettini is facing flak for his difficult form
The Italian is struggling with both form and fitness since the start of this year. He participated in the United Cup. He was instrumental in taking the Italian team to the final of the inaugural mixed-gender format competition. However, he could not take Italy over the finishing line.
Matteo Berrettini crashed out of the Australian Open in the very first round after losing to Andy Murray who defeated him in a five-set marathon match. He reached the Quarter-final round of the Mexican Open but lost to Holger Rune. He was knocked out in the first round of both the Indian Wells Open and Miami Open.
At the Monte-Carlo Masters he decided to forfeit his quarter-final match against Holger Rune. He has also withdrawn from the upcoming Madrid Open citing injury issues. However, during this time he has been under target of Italian fans and media for his dwindling form.
Many consider his new girlfriend Melissa Satta for his losses. But Matteo Berrettini has until now faced this situation bravely. He has snapped back at the critics who have targeted his girlfriend. He is also trying to build his fitness levels to match up other players on the tour.
The Italian is currently ranked No.24 in the world. However, he is determined to return to the tour in style in the upcoming tournaments.
