Melissa Satta, girlfriend of the Italian tennis star Matteo Berrettini, recently spoke out against the bullying and criticism she has been receiving on social media. In a series of posts on her Instagram story, Satta shared her thoughts on the issue and called for an end to such behavior. Satta has been in the public eye for some time now, and as a result, has had to deal with her fair share of negative comments and criticism.
However, in recent months, the level of abuse she has received has increased significantly, particularly since the beginning of her relationship with Berrettini. In her Instagram story, Satta spoke of the insults, bullying, and sexism she has endured and questioned why such behavior is still prevalent in 2023. She expressed her frustration with the fact that she is being attacked simply for being in a relationship and questioned why her partner’s difficulties were being attributed to her.
“I have been receiving a lot of messages of insults, bullying and sexism for months. I am attacked for the sentimental story I am experiencing. In 2023 this type of bullying must not exist. I have chosen and accepted to be a public figure and all that it entails: paparazzi, questions, gossip . I show my daily life on social networks, I tell myself. But I also love to keep some things to myself,” she said.
Satta also addressed the issue of women tearing each other down and called for more support and unity among women. She spoke of her love for social media but expressed her sadness at the fact that people use it to spread hate and negativity. Satta’s comments highlight a much larger issue that is prevalent on social media, where people feel that they can hide behind a screen and say whatever they want without any consequences.
“I don’t even know what I’m accused of? Of being a woman? Why is my partner experiencing a more difficult moment? If the opposite had happened? Would the man have been blamed? But then blamed for what: what did I do? I love social media but why insult and offend? I can’t conceive this ignorance and I say enough to keyboard lions, who wake up and insult me or other women. But if it were your girlfriend? Your daughter. I receive insults and meanness from other women , when we should come together and support each other,” she added.

Melissa Satta’s resilience, taking a stand against online bullying and hate
Satta has been in the public eye for some time, but the level of abuse she has received on social media has intensified in recent months. In a series of posts on her Instagram story, Satta addressed the issue head-on, calling out the hateful behavior and questioning why it still exists in 2023.
Rather than letting the insults and bullying get to her, Satta refused to back down and instead used her platform to shed light on the issue. Her decision to speak out has been widely praised, with many people applauding her resilience. Satta’s example is a powerful reminder that standing up for oneself is often the best way to tackle negativity and hate. By speaking out and taking a stand, Satta has shown that it is possible to push back against hateful behavior and emerge stronger and more empowered on the other side.
It is important to remember that while online abuse can be hurtful and damaging, it is never okay to let it define us or shape our sense of self-worth. By refusing to let the negativity get to her, Satta has set an example for others to follow and demonstrated the power of standing up for oneself in the face of adversity.
