Mirra Andreeva’s Andrey Rublev wish comes true after the Russians pair up at the 2023 World Tennis League
Earlier this year, Andreeva had expressed her wish for the doubles partner.

Mirra Andreeva had been one of the most rising sensations of the sport. The 16-year-old took the world by storm in this 2023 season. Recently winning the WTA ‘Newcomer of the Year’ Award, Andreeva has announced that she is here to stay. For a 16-year-old, she has shown amazing resilience and skillset. However, one of his dreams came true during the 2023 World Tennis League in the UAE.
During the French Open, Mirra Andreeva had expressed her wish to team up with her fellow Russian counterpart, Andrey Rublev. The dream came true during the World Tennis League, as both of them teamed up for the Mixed doubles.
They were up against the Polish duo of Iga Swiatek and Hubert Hurkacz. However, they lost the match because of the prior experience that Swiatek and Hurkacz had playing with each other.
After reaching the third round of the French Open, Andreeva was asked about the player she would like to play doubles with. To this question, Andreeva had answered,
I’d feel most comfortable playing with Andrey Rublev because he’s kind. I’m also kind of nice. If one day he asks me, I will say yes & yes & YES.
Mirra Andreeva’s rise to the ranks has been a dream-run
Just an unknown a few months ago, Andreeva’s rise to the ranks is one for the books. She won two ITF tournaments. The Russian teenager earned a wild card entry to the Madrid Open and won three matches, and surprised everyone by reaching the Octaves. She also reached the third round of the French Open and the fourth round of the Wimbledon.
Both Andreeva and Rublev are playing for the Eagles in the World Tennis League. The Eagles are currently in the second position of the table and will be competing with the Kites led by Aryna Sabalenka and Grigor Dimitrov.
The Eagles, led by Daniil Medvedev, have already lost their first match against the Kites. In the first match, young Andreeva got to team up with the Russian veteran Medvedev.
