Andreeva said to the Tennis Channel, “Honestly, she kicked my a**. I’m sorry, but she really did! I guess it was a good lesson if I’m here now. Maybe if I will play her, then I can take revenge. Who knows? So, we will see.

The Russian wunderkind Mirra Andreeva has been the talk of the town already after her entry into the main draw of women’s singles in this year’s French Open. In a tournament where the absence of the Spanish great Rafael Nadal has made more noise than the actual tournament itself, the rise of new tennis stars like Andreeva will be perfect for the tennis world.

The attacking baseliner did an impeccable performance against the American in the first round of the French Open. By constantly changing the height and spin of the balls, she played an almost perfect clay court match. In the next round, she will have to face the crowd as well, since Diane Parry is from France. How the Russian teen will be able to manage the pressure is being overlooked by the tennis world.

Roland Garros is the place where a lot of tennis legends have risen. Andreeva is playing really good clay-court tennis at the moment. The tennis world is looking forward to the Russian teen’s rise to the top, thereby rejuvenating Russian tennis, which is on the back foot for political and non-political reasons.
