17-year-old youngster Mirra Andreeva has taken the ongoing Wimbledon Championships by storm registering a win over Anastasia Potapova and booking a place at the round of 16 stage. Fans are expecting big things from the Russian with many expecting her to become the next big thing in the tennis world. At one of the post-match conferences, she didn’t shy away from speaking selflessly about her form and how she has been deeply inspired by tennis greats Rafael Nadal and Roger Federer.
She talked about how she grew up watching them both while also revealing that the Swiss legend was his favorite and he admired him a lot. She also talked about how she was greatly impressed by Nadal’s 2022 French Open victory saying, “But after Rafa won RG 2022, I was so impressed bc after an injury he won AO & RG. I can say I try to copy him sometimes, mentally. I try to ask ‘What would he do in these moments?”
She went on to talk about the mental strength of Nadal and how he is pivotal in her approach to every single match. Andreeva has been following the greats growing up and has been playing like one this Wimbledon hoping to embark on an even bigger impact in the future.

Andreeva had also talked about the big three before in an event during this year’s Roland Garros stating who is her favorite and her take on who is the greatest according to her. She was steady enough to begin by saying that Roger has always been her idol and he will always be No. 1 on her list but after Rafa’s recent performance, she fell into a dilemma. But now she is in peace as she has accepted both Rafa and Roger among her favorites and the first on her list.
When asked about placing the Big 3 in order, she said, “But I don’t want to offend Novak. So let’s say they’re three on the first places. I like the way that he plays. He’s counterpunching a lot, and he’s a good defender. He’s a good mover on the court, so yes, I like the way he plays.” Andreeva will play Madison Keys tomorrow in what will be a season-defining match for her as she looks to qualify for the quarter-finals.
