Naomi Osaka lost to Danielle Collins in the first round of the Abu Dhabi Open. This is her third consecutive loss after the Japanese player’s comeback from the maternity leave. After a disappointing performance at the Australian Open, Osaka was expected to turn things around at the WTA 500 event. However, things did not go in Osaka’s favor.

After she crashed out of the tournament following the loss against Danielle Collins, fans have really come hard at the 26-year-old for her series of poor performances. One of the Twitter accounts even went up to the extent of saying that the four-time Grand Slam title winner doesn’t love the game. “This what happens when you don’t respect the game it will hate on you”– the fan said.

After her comeback in January, Osaka managed just one win against Karolina Pliskova during the Brisbane International. She was scheduled to face Elena Rybakina in the second round but couldn’t make it past the Round of 32. Even then, the Kazakh player had some kind words for the Japanese player. Rybakina said then, addressing the press:

The second set was completely one-sided with the World no. 71 not allowing a single point in the round and ultimately clinching the match.

Even after going through a poor run of form in the season, the Japanese star has her eyes on some big prizes this season. In an interview with The Cut, Osaka said that she is looking to win the Wimbledon and the Roland Garros. She further added that she was also excited to get back to the Olympics.
