Naomi Osaka confirms her comeback tournament in the 2024 season post maternity break
Naomi Osaka last played in Tokyo at the Pan Pacific Open back in 2022 before missing 2023 season due to pregnancy.

Former World No.1, Naomi Osaka will make her comeback at the first tournament of the upcoming season in Brisbane. The Japanese tennis player had taken time off the tour due to pregnancy. Earlier, Osaka had announced her plans to make a potential return at the Australian Open 2024. Recently, the 26-year-old took to social media platform X to announce her return.
Naomi Osaka played her last match at the Pan Pacific Open in Tokyo back in 2022. Following the birth of her daughter Shai in July earlier this year, she shared her video clips hitting the court. She’s preparing for return at the newly-reformed WTA 500 event, Brisbane International which will resume in December after it was last held in 2020.
The tournament welcomed the return of the 4-times Grand Slam champion with a post on their official X handle. Brisbane International’s official X handle posted a promotional poster featuring Osaka.

The 2-times champ, who missed her first Australian Open this year, looks forward to resurging back to her form in the lead-up to the Australian Open. The Brisbane Internationals will be held over 8 days with the first-round matches set to begin on the 31st of December.

Four times Grand Slam winner, Naomi Osaka plans on dethroning WTA Finals winner, Iga Swiatek to get back to being the World #1. She has teamed up with former coach, Florian Zitzelsberger. He had begun working with Osaka back in 2022, but then the player took a break as she expected the birth of her firstborn.
Florian Zitzelsberger recently revealed that Osaka tightly holds onto her ambition to reclaim her No.1 ranking from French Open winner, Iga Swiatek.
"Where she is today is what makes working with her so inspiring. She wants to get back to world No. 1, she wants to win Grand Slams..." Zitzelsberger stated in an interview with tennis.com.
He additionally revealed that Osaka is embracing her motherhood and gives the impression of someone who is grounded and mature.
