Naomi Osaka opens up about how she feels about staying away from her daughter Shai in a pre-match conference ahead of the mega event.

Naomi Osaka is all set to return to the Australian Open starting on Sunday. After missing the 2023 season due to the birth of her daughter, the Japanese star returned to the court at Brisbane International.
As she makes a comeback, she joins a very special list of players who are trying to maintain a balance between motherhood and a professional tennis career.
The 2021 Australian Open winner attended a pre-match conference ahead of the mega event. In which she was asked about how she feels about staying away from her daughter while she is on Tour.
It's definitely been really hard, I think. She's learning things while I'm gone. She doesn't know how to crawl before I came. But now she's doing her little plank thing and scooting forward and backward. So, I think it might be a little inevitable. Yeah, I think I'm definitely sad. I feel like it's selfish, but I want her to be here.To which Osaka said
During her comeback at the Brisbane International, Osaka made a statement in the first match against Tamara Korpatsch, beating her in straight sets. However, in the second round, she was defeated by Karolina Pliskova.
Naomi Osaka to face Caroline Garcia in the first round of Australia Open 2024
The mega event is all set to begin on Sunday. With the draws being made, Osaka is set to face off against World No. 20 Caroline Garcia in the first round.
Though Garcia has a poor record at Melbourne Park, she can give the Japanese a tough time.
Especially after making such a quick comeback, Osaka won’t have an easy time at Melbourne Park. It is still to be made sure who she will fair up with the top seeds, such as Iga Swiatek and Aryna Sabalenka.
However, Osaka has a very good record at the Australian Open, winning the title on two occasions in 2019 and 2021. Moreover, with the experience she has, she will hope that she can make her comeback a special one.
