Four-time Grand Slam champion, Naomi Osaka has not been on the court for quite some time. Recently, the star pulled out of the Australian Open before it began. The former World No.1 is currently expecting her first child with her boyfriend, Cordae. Osaka last played in September in her home country of Japan. The tennis star is set to return to the sport in next year’s season.
The 25-year-old already has many achievements under her belt. Osaka has won seven ATP titles, other than her major titles, and has broken many records. She won two successive majors too. Osaka’s marketability and professionalism have often been appreciated. In a recent interview with Vogue, Osaka regales her excitement about being a mother and collaborating with Victoria’s Secret.
Last month, Naomi announced her pregnancy publicly, much to the excitement of fans. The player has been dating Grammy-nominated rapper, Cordae since 2019. The couple is set to welcome their first child together this year. Regarding the sex of their child, Osaka is aware of it, but her boyfriend doesn’t know.
When asked about preparing for her future motherhood, Naomi said that she thinks she will have to ‘go with the flow’. She also said that she is ‘unsure’ if she can really prepare to be a mother. “I know there are things I can buy and classes I can take, but… This is going to be my first, and I’m really excited.” the former World No. 1 said.
Osaka commented on how having a kid can change somebody’s life. According to the star, it is not completely possible to gear up to have a kid. She believes that ‘going with the flow’ is the best option for now: “Everyone I know that has had a kid, it has changed their life. I don’t think I can prepare for it. I think I’m gonna have to go with the flow.”
Naomi Osaka is the first person to collaborate with Victoria’s Secret
Recently, Naomi Osaka revealed that she will be working with Victoria’s Secret on a new advertising campaign. Being the first person to ever work on a collection with the legendary brand, Osaka is making history. Along with Victoria’s Secret, Osaka has developed a line of cozy sleepwear and intimate apparel that is made sustainably.
The public will be able to access the collection starting on February 22 through online forums. The line showcases Osaka’s preference for loose, comfortable clothing for her leisurely occasions. The expectant mother claims that her new sleepwear pieces are also excellent maternity clothes. “I’ve actually been wearing them all the time now,” she said.
