Universal Tennis Rating (UTR) is the rating and ranking system for all tennis players around the world. This includes almost all tennis players- male, female or adults, or children. All professional, amateur, and budding tennis players are on the list.

UTR takes the winning percentage of the player in the last 30 matches in 12 months and the rating of the opponent to calculate the rating of the player. Based on the rating points, ranking is known. UTR is the most trusted way to know a player’s skill level. This is also the official rating system used by the Intercollegiate Tennis Association (ITA).

Tennis Channel, which is one of the partners of UTR has released the men’s rankings based on the UTR system on social media. According to UTR rankings, Nick Kyrgios is ranked World No.2 with a 16.06 UTR Rating, just behind Novak Djokovic who has taken the top spot. However, both the player’s ATP rankings differ by a wide margin from UTR rankings. Nick Kyrgios is ranked No.22 in the ATP men’s singles rankings 2022. Similarly, Novak Djokovic is ranked No.5 in the ATP men’s singles rankings 2022.

Tennis Channel is also asking social media users to give their opinions on these rankings.
