German tennis ace Alexander Zverev advanced to the semifinals of the 2024 Australian Open as he defeated Carlos Alcaraz in the quarterfinals on Wednesday. The 26-year-old beat the reigning Wimbledon champion in four sets to earn his second semifinal qualification at the Australian Open.

While Zverev got plaudits for his tennis, the German was dragged on social media over domestic violence allegations. As Zverev is set to face a trial in the domestic violence case in May, the 26-year-old has been facing criticism from the fans.

A user on X (formerly Twitter) came up with an interesting post where he mentioned how Kyrgios and Zverev are similar (as both are accused of domestic violence by their partners).

It's wild as a fan of tennis to explain to a friend that the player that just won stands accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend and then they go "oh, I thought that was Nick Kyrgios?!" and you have to go "no, this is another guy accused of assaulting his ex-girlfriend…"
The user posted criticizing Zverev and Kyrgios.

It is worth mentioning that Nick Kyrgios was also involved in a domestic violence case where the Australian pleaded guilty to pushing his ex-girlfriend Chiara Passari to the ground during an argument in his hometown of Canberra in January 2021. Kyrgios was not convicted for reasons including that the offense was at the low end of seriousness for a common assault and was not premeditated.

On the other hand, this is a second domestic violence case against Alexander Zverev, in which he was ordered to pay a hefty fine by a Berline court. However, Zverev contested that decision and, hence, will be facing a trial in May this year.
