Novak Djokovic earned a hard-fought win in the second round of the Australian Open. The Serb was up against World ranked No. 43 Alexei Popyrin.
Nole started off the match in dominance, winning the first set of the match 6-3. However, the 24-year-old came back strongly, winning the second set.
Even in the third set of the match, Nole earned the win by a slight margin, following up with a dominant performance in the fourth set to clinch the match.
However, apart from the match results, one more incident gained media attention. It was a confrontation between the defending champion and a fan in the Rod Laver Arena.
It was the fourth set of the match, during which one of the fans from the crowd said something to Nole. The Serb didn’t withstand it and asked the fan to “come down and say it to his face.” The entire arena was left in silence.
However, after the win, Nole had a funny banter regarding this with Nick Kyrgios. The Australian is working as a commentator for ESPN.
