Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios is known for his loud-mouthed nature both on and off the court. He has always been associated with social media feuds with several personnel, be it with some political agendas or some talks about tennis.
Just a few days ago, he was involved in a huge online Twitter outburst with tennis legend Boris Becker over the German’s style of play compared to modern tennis players.
With Boris finally putting matters to rest after a string of tweets, the German wished Kyrgios a speedy recovery and good luck for the future. But now, after a few days, he was called out by a journalist named David Law, who cited a comparison between the reputations of Kyrgios and Becker. He called out Kyrgios for his boasting nature and questioned the legacy of the Australian.
Do you seriously think you have got more people interested in the sport of tennis in your career than Boris Becker has?Law tweeted
To this end, Kyrgios talked about how he has been creating a brand for himself and also holding himself in the ranks among the most-watched players in the world.
No David you peanut. I’m saying I’ve created my own brand and name. I’ve arguably been one of the most-watched players in the world outside the big three in the last decade. I also stated that this generation of players would eat him alive.Kyrgios said
What started the Kyrgios-Becker feud in the first place
Nick Kyrgios called out Boris Becker as slow compared to the tennis players of this generation. He tweeted that the German wouldn’t stand a chance at present.
Nick makes a lot of noise about tennis lately!?! Why does he speak about a sport he apparently hates …fact-check Nick has never won a major championship as a player or coach( yes doubles 1) so where is any credibility coming from? This offended Becker and he replied back
And Kyrgios replied in the same old style, leading attacks on Becker’s personal life. He brought up the topic of hiding assets, for which Becker had faced huge trouble in the past.
Becker also brought up the topic of Nick’s latest venture, i.e., his new Only Fans account, which Kyrgios handled quite well, sharing his greetings for the shoutout about the matter.
