Serbian World No.2 Novak Djokovic‘s basketball practice with the Russian star Andrey Rublev was given a cheeky reply by the Australian controversial talent Nick Kyrgios. As one of the biggest basketball fans in the tennis world, Kyrgios commented that Djokovic could be beaten by him here easily. Djokovic posted the video on Instagram with the caption, “Some hoops with Andrey Rublev from earlier today.”
Nick Kyrgios, who is so active on social media lately, commented, “This is one thing I’d beat you in hahahahahahaha.” Kyrgios is having a break from tennis as he is still struggling to get back from the worst injury. He only played one match the whole season where he lost in the first round of the Stuttgart Open. The tennis world was expecting him to be back for the US Open at least this year.
The Serbian World No.2 Novak Djokovic on the other hand is performing better than ever this year here in the Cincinnati Open. He will play the Spanish youngster Carlos Alcaraz in the finals. It is the 4th head to head match between them and the first time on hard courts.

Nick Kyrgios was the first big name to withdraw from the US Open
The American box office player Nick Kyrgios was one of the most prominent names to withdraw from the US Open first. A week back, The US Open announced on its official social media handle, “The 2022 quarterfinalist will miss this year’s event.” The tennis fans were expecting the box office player to be back on the tour in the coming months. He has only played a single match the entire year where he lost in the first round of the Stuttgart Open.
Kyrgios had his breakthrough year in 2022 as he won his first Grand Slam title in doubles with compatriot Thanasi Kokkinakis in his home Grand Slam to start off the year. Following the triumph and skipping the clay court season, the American star reached his first Grand Slam finals in Wimbledon before getting succumbed to the Serbian star Novak Djokovic.
With a year of almost no tennis, the tennis world is looking forward to seeing the American star back on top in the next year. Neverthless, the Australian talent will be missed in the US Open this year.
