After getting called out by Boris Becker for claiming that Novak Djokovic would have eaten Pete Sampras alive had they played against each other, Nick Kyrgios has launched a counterattack on the German. As Becker questioned the credibility of the claims made by Kyrgios over the fact that he does not have a singles Grand Slam title, Kyrgios hit back.

The Australian was in no mood to take any harsh words from Becker. Kyrgios instantly replied as the German questioned the credibility of his claims. As Becker said that Kyrgios’ claims should not be taken seriously as he has not even won a Grand Slam title and seems to hate the sport, the Australian counterattacked by asking how many Grand Slam titles Alexander Zverev won.

It is worth mentioning that Boris Becker has defended Alexander Zverev time and again and backed the German to do wonders in the coming years. However, as Zverev has not been able to win a Grand Slam title yet, despite having spent a good amount of time on the tour, the Australian dragged his name to hit back at Becker.

Nick Kyrgios explains why his claims are credible

As Becker attacked Nick Kyrgios over the credibility of his claims and for not winning a Grand Slam title, the Australian explained why his claims are credible. Kyrgios reminded Becker that he has defeated all the players of the Big Four and hence deserves some credibility.

The 2022 Wimbledon finalist then reiterated his claim about Novak Djokovic easily dominating the players from the previous generation. The Australian said that his claims are not even an attack on any player but only plain facts. 

Also, I mean I’ve beaten, Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Murray so I feel like I have a little credibility…. But it doesn’t take a rocket scientist to see that Novak would wipe the floor against you in your prime? Like it’s not an attack. It’s just facts.

A few days back, Kyrgios had made the same claims about Pete Sampras. In an interview with The Athletic, the Australian claimed that Novak Djokovic would eat Sampras alive if they played against each other. This infuriated Becker who raised questions about Kyrgios’ claims. And now, Kyrgios hit back at the former German ace.
