Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios is really excited about the upcoming Netflix docuseries ‘Break Point’. 2022 Wimbledon finalist claimed that the series will be ‘perfect’ and is ‘exactly what tennis needed’. Netflix’s show is similar to the Formula One series ‘Drive to Survive’ and will be released on January 13 next year and will act as a build-up to the Australian Open.

The 27-year-old, who just had a tremendous season is one of the many players to be featured in the series. The series will showcase the ups and downs of players, both on and off the tennis court. The primary focus will be the ongoing change of guard in tennis.

“It’s exactly what tennis needed. There’s such a different aspect to tennis that people don’t understand. I think tennis is actually one of the only sports where there are literally players from all over the world. There are players and they go about it so differently,” Kyrgios said in an interview with Eurosport.

“Just the origins of all of us as well. Where I came from, my journey. Everyone’s journey is so different and it’s pretty extraordinary. Someone like Casper Ruud, his journey, growing up, with his family, his origins, it’s awesome,” Kyrgios remarked on the issues that the series touches upon.

“It’s going to be cool,” Kyrgios said further. Other tennis stars that will feature in the series include Ons Jabeur, Stefanos Tsitsipas, and Paula Badosa.

Nick Kyrgios to be portrayed as a ‘villain’ in Netflix’s ‘Break Point’?

Netflix documentary series “Break Point”, on the lines of ‘Drive to Survive’ has generated a lot of hype over social media and outside. The male players to feature include Nick Kyrgios, Casper Ruud, Stefanos Tsitsipas, Matteo Berrettini, and Felix Auger-Aliassime among others. There is a talk going on that Nick Kyrgios may be shown in a bad light in the documentary series.

Kyrgios’ friend Taylor Frtiz is suspicious about the docuseries. Earlier he said that the show could portray Kygios as a villain. “They could also cut it up to make him look like the villain, which I feel like they might do just because that’s how a lot of people in tennis see him,” Fritz said in an interview.

Whether the show portrays him negatively or not, as far as Kyrgios is concerned, he is not worried about that. The 2022 Wimbledon finalist is looking forward to the upcoming season starting in just a few days. Winning the maiden Grand Slam is Kyrgios’ prime goal this year.
