Australian World No. 92 Nick Kyrgios shocked the entire tennis world by withdrawing from the US Open 2023. He is the first big player to withdraw from the tournament. This means that the Australian star will be out of the top 100 rankings and will miss all the Grand Slam tournaments of the year.
The US Open has announced on its official social media handle, “The 2022 quarterfinalist will miss this year’s event.” The tennis fans were expecting the box office player to be back on the tour in the coming months. He has only played a single match the entire year where he lost in the first round of the Stuttgart Open.
Kyrgios will be looking back to hit the top gear in the next year. He had earlier hinted that the tour will be better when Rafael Nadal and himself be back on the tour. The Spanish star had already called off the year due to a hip injury. So, in a way, Kyrgios was pointing out that he will be also back on the court in 2024. But still, there are no tweets or official announcements from the player himself.
