The Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios is always known for his bold and controversial remarks. Due to this, Kyrgios has been under fire a lot of times in his career.
However, this time, he slammed the former tennis major winner Pat Cash. For context, this started with the remarks that Cash had made in a recent commentary stint.
During this, Cash referred to the crowds these days as getting out of hand and asked them to be more respectful.
Cheer on your countrymen, no problems, but they’re not representing your country, they’re individual and I think we need to understand that.During the stint Pat Cash said
He further marked the differences between the Davis Cup and the Grand Slams, in which players play for their records and accolades and not for their nation. Kyrgios, on the other hand, is of a completely different ideology. He had remarked earlier that he liked the participation of the crowds.
Moreover, as per the tennis star himself, he likes playing in the smaller and louder John Cain Arena.

Nick Kyrgios supports the crowd against Pat Cash’s statements
Nick Kyrgios has been out of court for a long time. Due to his injury, he is forced to withdraw from the 2023 Australian Open.
However, he will be working as a commentator during the Grand Slam. In the controversy with Pat Cash, Kyrgios has slammed Cash for not being in touch with modern-day fans.
Someone like Pat Cash wouldn’t be able to grasp that concept. I’m not taking anything away from Pat Cash - incredible player of his generation, but we need to continue to make the sport grow. We need the crowds to feel part of the sport. We need entertainment. We need people having beers and the players loving it. We need human interaction. We’re human, not robots.Kyrgios said during his interview with Daily Mail Australia.
The crowd interactions have been pretty normal in the current era of tennis. Besides, the home player getting more support from the crowd is not a new thing, and it has been in practice for years.
