Nick Kyrgios opens up about fear of ‘coming back a little soon’ following Rafael Nadal’s heartbreaking withdrawal from Australian Open
Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios expressed his sadness over the news of Rafael Nadal missing the Australian Open due to a muscle tear.

Rafael Nadal announced on Sunday that he is going to miss the Australian Open starting on January 14, 2024.
The Spaniard was affected by an upper-left leg issue during his quarterfinal match against Jordan Thompson. Even after facing discomfort, Rafa completed the match, resulting in a loss and being eliminated from the tournament.
After reaching Melbourne for the mega event, Nadal had the chance to do the MRI. Results show a micro tear on a muscle.
However, it was not the same part where Rafa had an injury last season.
Right now, I am not ready to compete at the maximum level of exigence in five sets matches. I'm flying back to Spain to see my doctor, get some treatment, and rest. I have worked very hard during the year for this comeback and as I always mentioned my goal is to be at my best level in 3 months.The 37-year-old further said via Instagram

Kyrgios himself has been out of court for quite a long period of time. In the last two years, Kyrgios has just played one professional match.
Injury scar continues for Rafael Nadal
After staying out of the court for the entire 2023 season, Rafa chose Brisbane International as the seat of his return.
