Nick Kyrgios has never been shy of voicing his concerns and strong opinions out in the world. Understandably he has unequivocally earned a controversial reputation owing to his loud and angry on-court bursts.
However, the Aussie recently addressed an underhanded issue pertaining to the frequent ball changes, which potentially resulted in a shock defeat for Novak Djokovic at the 2024 United Cup.

Serbian tennis star Novak Djokovic is currently in action at the United Cup where the 36-year-old is making a maiden appearance to represent his Team Serbia. In the event’s earlier Group E stages, Nole led his team to down Team China, 2-1, to set up a quarterfinal clash with Team Australia.
In the single category, the Serb recently squared off against Alex de Minaur. In what was a lopsided result, the Australian stunned the World No. 1 with a straight-set triumph at his home ground in Perth. This prompted the former’s countryman Nick Kyrgios to take a dig at ATP for changing balls every week. It is worth noting that this issue has been raised by several players on tour earlier, calling for the circuit’s amendment towards the one-week ball change rule.
Also, for the people who think balls aren’t a big enough factor to result in an athlete being hurt are potato’s. The load through a players elbow, wrist over this vigorous season is enormous.wrote Kyrgios on X
