Australian tennis star Nick Kyrgios has been out of the tennis court like forever now, playing just a single game this year, way back in June at the Stuttgart Open

However, he still went on to suffer a defeat in that match. Having been off the training grounds for so long, he has been devoid of confidence and lacking motivation as well.

Kyrgios talked to the media outlet Wide World of Sports regarding his return to the court, saying that his body is still continuing to ache despite a year-long recovery.

Kyrgios said:

It's quite a serious surgery where I just need to take my time. I need to be a bit patient. Just patience was the keyword really. Just being able to trust in the process of; OK, your left knee is not gonna feel brand new, but it's still more than capable of holding up in the Wimbledons and the Australian Opens. I just need to trust that and get it to a point where I feel confident again, just confidence in the body is a big thing.

He also talked about feeling a couple of niggles around his joints and his right wrist as he keeps working on them. Kyrgios revealed that he has come a long way from where he was before his surgery. That’s not all; as per the tennis professional himself, he has improved severely now that he is focusing deliberately on rehab.

Nick Kyrgios talks about not rushing into things

Nick Kyrgios stressed giving himself time so he wouldn’t rush his recovery after facing major health issues last time when he rushed his return to court. He said that there are still a lot of things that need work, and he is still in a lot of pain currently.

Kyrgios said:

There's still a lot of work to do. I had some more setbacks after my knee coming back the first time. It was just not where I wanted to be and it was still causing me a lot of pain. I've been around the world with my rehab, seen some people that I hadn't seen previously for my knee and getting different opinions.

He further revealed how much he has traveled throughout the world for the last few months, just visiting doctors along with his rehab and receiving different ways to recover.

With that being said, it is yet to be seen whether Kyrigos can actually make his comeback in 2024 or if fans have to wait yet another season for the tennis pro to return to the court.
