Nick Kyrgios ruled out French Open, injury sustained during car theft while mom held at gunpoint
Nick Kyrgios has decided not to participate in the French Open due to an injury he suffered while his mother was being threatened with a gun during a car theft

Nick Kyrgios is set to withdraw from the 2023 French Open after allegedly getting his foot injuries suffered during a carjacking. According to his agent, a man invaded Nick Kyrgios’s home in Canberra and held his mother at gunpoint. The robber proceeded to steal Nick Kyrgios’s Tesla car.
Nick Kyrgios was in good form during the end of 2022 but he ended up injuring his knee in January. He had to undergo surgery in January and missed all the ATP 1000 clay-court tournaments leading up to the Roland Garros. He declared his withdrawal from the French Open on Tuesday. “It’s not looking likely. We are trying everything we can to have Nick ready on court as soon as possible,” his agent said.
Fans were expecting Kyrgios to play in the 2023 French Open as he promised to play in the tournament for his girlfriend. “Next year I am going to go to Paris. I’m announcing that now, I’m going to the French Open,” he once mentioned. The official documents say that a man held Nick Kyrgios’ mother, Norlaila Kyrgios at gunpoint and demanded the keys for the car. After the robber got into the car, she called for help.
Nick Kyrgios was around and he called the emergency number. The Canberra Times mentioned that Kyrgios had cut his foot while he and his family were in the pandemonium of tracking the thief down. A man was arrested by the police in Canberra as Kyrgios helped the police by tracking his Tesla App.

His post has made fans emotional about the tragic passing of the NBA legend, Kobe Bryant.
