Nick Kyrgios continues to put in a solid performance at the ongoing 2022 Wimbledon Championships as the Australian enters his second quarter-final at the historic tournament. Nick last reached the quarter-finals at Wimbledon in his debut in 2014 and it has been a wait of 8 years for him to repeat the feat once again as he continues his hunt for his maiden singles Grand Slam title.

Kyrgios had a small scare in the 4th round match when he was up against Brandon Nakashima fighting for a place in the last-8. The Australian after conceding the first set fought back brilliantly to take a 2-1 set lead going into the 4th set. The American however made a good comeback to force a decider which was eventually won by Nick who dropped only 2 games in the 5th set.

It was Kyrgios’ second 5-set win of the week as he had earlier defeated Paul Jubb in 5-sets in the first round as well. However, post the win over Nakashima, Mike Dickson, writer at DailyMail took to his Twitter account to give his own analysis of Nick’s win and qualification into the quarter-finals.

Nick Kyrgios through to Wimbledon’s quarter finals to play Cristian Garin. A rather un-Kyrgios performance, gritting it out over 5 sets, but one which may yet change the course of his career,” wrote Mike which did not go well with Kyrgios. The Australian who is quite active on his social media handles quickly replied saying, “6-0 in 5 sets? What do you mean by this tweet?”

Kyrgios pointed out the fact that he is yet to lose in any of the six 5-set matches that he has played so far and maintains a 100% win record. Going a set down, winning the next two and coming clutch in the final set, it was a complete performance from Nick and he did not like the comment made by Dickson.
