In the all-exciting world of sports, subtle gestures and words can have a greater impact on the athlete than one would realize. Recently, there have been speculations of a possible jinx on Carlos Alcaraz ever since the iconic show brand Nike partnered with the Spaniard. Taking to its official Twitter handle, Nike wrote:
The Alcaraz era is upon us. An age in which age doesn't matter and impossible shots are served with a smile. Congrats Carlos Alcaraz, youngest world no.1, major no.2. Your time has only just begun.
After that Grand Slam title victory, Alcaraz continued to play good tennis for a while. However, ever since his small injury scare, he hasn’t been able to get his momentum back. However, Novak Djokovic steadily rose to the top, taking his position as No. 1 back and then holding on to it, looking to end the year at the top.
As expected, the post instantly went viral, eliciting a plethora of hilarious yet interesting reactions from fans. Apparently, they think that Alcaraz’s recent decline in performance is because of a jinx placed on the player by Nike. Twitter (now known as X) is full of fans hilariously commenting about it.

Carlos Alcaraz loses hopes to finish the year as World No. 1
Young Spanish talent Carlos Alcaraz has been one of the few players who have been a treat to watch. He entertained the fans by giving a huge competition to Novak Djokovic and also beating him on a grand stage like Wimbledon.
However, ever since Novak reclaimed his position as World No. 1, Carlos aimed to take back the spot by the end of the year, but after a few early exits, the end of the tunnel might be a little while longer for the Spaniard.
There are days like this, but it’s difficult for me to exit like this in a tournament where I hoped I could reach the final. It’s a failure, and it hurts. I think my chances are gone now.
Carlos Alcaraz said in an interview
The Spaniard will next be seen playing in the ATP finals as he looks to gain some momentum before the year ends. After consecutive early exits, fans are eager to see how the Spaniard will perform on the toughest stage of all.
