Carlos Alcaraz is one of the brightest stars of the next generation. He is looking more and more like the one true heir of the legacy created by Rafael Nadal and the Spanish tennis. Alcaraz has been on a tremendous run this year. After his third-round exit at the Australian Open, he won in Rio, then he lost the semifinals of the Indian Wells to Rafa Nadal, and won the Miami Open next.
He then had a 2nd round exit in Monte-Carlo and won the 2022 Barcelona Open ahead of Stefanos Tsitsipas and many other stars. He defeated his friend and compatriot Pablo Carreno Busta 6-3, 6-2 as he won the tournament in straight sets. His tremendous win at the Barcelona Open will also propel him into the ATP top 10. He is following the footsteps of Rafael Nadal as Nadal too entered the top 10 in the same manner at the same age.

A bright talent always draws comparison to the established player after a certain time in his career and with Alcaraz’s every step being a perfect match for Nadal’s, the fans are happy as they can see the next generation of tennis stars are here and are in no way less than their predecessors. Twitter has blown up with the fans praising Alcaraz and speculating about what the next title will be after the win at Barcelona with the young phenom on a prowl for more silverware and records.
The problem with instant comparison and high expectations is that sometimes the pressure of all those fans gets to the players and it might affect the quality of the games. Many fans believe that people should let Alcaraz be.
Twitter reactions aside, the quality of tennis Carlos Alcaraz has shown this year is a great indicator of his future achievements, but as truly said by one gentleman, Alcaraz has already started and he is the present. The fans will look forward to his performance at the Roland Garros with bated breaths.
