Novak Djokovic & Taylor Fritz

The global tennis community is haywire with their fetish of raising Novak Djokovic’s ban from the 2022 US Open repeatedly and Taylor Fritz doesn’t seem to be left out as recently he gave his opinion and insight on how things might shape out with the Serbian’s absence.

The American in a phone interview discussed the recent issue (that turned into controversy) by saying “I think now times are changing a bit, there’s no one that’s overly dominant right now so I feel like anyone between 10 people could win the tournament,” hinting on how the ban imposement might actually help in reflecting a different outcome unlike what usually is witnessed every year.

Taylor Fritz, while engaging with the promotion of one of his sponsors, Optimum Nutrition, over a phone interview elaborated on how Novak Djokovic’s omission has an obvious positive impact saying “I think that Americans can contend for Grand Slams right now.” Concluding his views on the same, the American expressed how this year might engage in finding us a new champion quoting “I think there was a long period where it was just basically Roger Federer, Novak Djokovic, Rafael Nadal, Andy Murray and it was always going to be one of those guys.”

The 24-year-old Californian is currently ranked at world No. 12 and back at Wimbledon this year became the first American man since 1999 to reach the quarter-finals of a Grand Slam. Upon asking about his preparation for the upcoming New York showdown, Fritz handed over his statement saying “I feel really confident. I feel like I’ve kind of dealt with injuries on and off leading up so a big focus for me in the last couple of weeks is getting to train a lot, in the gym a lot, to kind of build that base back up because I think right now the tennis is there.”

Nevertheless, he mentioned his thoughts and of fans worldwide stating “I think at the end of the day, he’s the best player in the world and would be the clear favorite to win the US Open if he was allowed to play.” Overall the American has had an impressive season beating all odds, Fritz might have a chance of taking a run at the Flushing Meadows championship title.

‘Djoker’s’ ban controversy held its roots in the Serb’s history of violating the Covid-19 mandate overly for some time now which hasn’t proved to work in his interests since his adamance to get the vaccination has cost him two championships, the Australian Open, and the US Open.
