“Not fair at all!” Judy Murray blasted after commenting on transwomen having an ‘unfair’ advantage in sport

Judy Murray, the 62-year-old Scottish tennis coach, recently came under a lot of heat on Twitter for commenting on the transwomen situation of pro golfer Hailey Davidson. Davidson is seeking to be the first transwoman to earn an LGPA tour card, Judy Murray took to Twitter to comment on how it is unfair that Davidson has a biological advantage over other women competing.

Mother of 35-year-old British professional Andy Murray, Judy Murray apparently disappointed a lot of people over the internet due to her taking part in the debate of whether transwomen should be allowed to play in the women’s category or not. The comment came regarding Hailey Davidson’s inclusion in the women’s category.

Judy Murray comments on transwomen being able to compete in the women’s category

Back in 2015, Hailey Davidson competed as a male golfer, they went through hormone therapy and completed their transition in 2021. The LPGA (Ladies Professional Golf Association) decided to allow trans players ever since 2010 and more and more transwomen started to compete in the women’s category which resulted in the debate that there is an unfair advantage for trans athletes in the women’s category.

Reacting to Hailey Davidson’s inclusion on the pro golf tour, Judy Murray made a tweet saying, “No. Not fair at all. Protect women’s sport. Listen to the facts, the scientists, and the medics. This is wrong,” Murray received mixed reactions from people on Twitter, most of the people disagreed with her opinion and the tennis coach came under a lot of hate due to her statements.

One of the people reacted to Judy Murray’s comments and made a tweet saying, “Totally wrong . We need to find a way to solve this sporting dilemma. Biological males will always have a physical advantage in women’s sport. Deep thought required,” there were various reactions to Murray’s tweet on this issue.

Hailey Davidson’s case is one of the many that sparks a debate about differently sexed athletes coming out and competing in the same categories as the two genders. The community has split into two with everyone having their own opinion over the topic.
