‘The Bad Boy of Tennis’, Nick Kyrgios, who ironically never seems to shy away from controversies, recently got John McEnroe compared to himself as the tennis legend reminisced his sporting days and saw much resemblance.

In the second round of the US Open, the Australian found himself trapped under multiple on-court violations owing to him swearing and spitting towards his team box, ultimately earning himself a hefty fine from the authorities, one which is being regarded as one of the heaviest fines imposed by the Flushing championship officials.

“Each time he does something I go, ‘Did I do that?” John McEnroe finds Nick Kyrgios stuck in the same wrap-hole as he was

John McEnroe while convening his thoughts for the Australian star, considered the similarities between them, especially when was of his age quoting “each time he does something I go, ‘Did I do that?’ I like Nick as a person. I think he’s a smart kid. He moves the needle. I think the players like him. A lot of fans like him. There’s a lot of talk about him. He’s an incredible talent,” acknowledging Nick Kyrgios’ raw talent and his ability to achieve the impossible if he stays determined.

Adding further to his thoughts for the same, McEnroe hoped to remodel himself onto Kyrgios in hopes of getting his image better saying “I tried to model myself after Jimmy Connors, giving that type of effort. How hard did I try? Did I give it my best? And I think for the most part I feel like I did that, and I feel too often Nick just mails it in. And that’s just not good for him or good for the sport.”

In concluding with his opinion, the former American tennis professional looked back in time and found himself content with what he has at of moment stating “I think I was right most of the time. That doesn’t mean I went about it in the right way. Knock on wood, I feel like I’m in a pretty good place now. The effort that I’ve made to get there, it’s been like a roller coaster in a lot of ways, but it’s been a hell of a ride. So I look at it that way and I feel like I’m in a pretty good place in my life right now.”

The 27-year-old Aussie is known to have proclaimed upon himself bad publicity due to his on-court lash-outs at the crowd and referees, nevertheless all things considered is performing significantly well at the ongoing US Open with his third round lined up against J.J. Wolf.
