By defeating Stefanos Tsitsipas in the 2022 ATP Finals first-round robin match on Monday, 6-4, 7-6 (4), the 21-time Grand Slam winner ensured he would top $160 million in career winnings on the following Monday. But that is not all. In the event of an undefeated season-ending championship, players can earn up to $4.47 million, which means the Serb could reach the $165 million mark by the end of this tournament.

A tennis player can earn in different ways. He or she can earn through tournament participation fees, prize money, endorsements, advertisements, sponsors, etc. Big players such as Roger Federer, Serena Williams, and Rafael Nadal are not just successful tennis players but also bigger brands in themselves.

Most of their earnings come from endorsements, advertisements, and sponsors. But Novak Djokovic is one player who has been more successful than both Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal in the tournaments. While Roger Federer earned a whopping $130 million from prize money throughout his career, Rafael Nadal’s earnings are greater with $131 million. And we must also remember the fact that the Spaniard is still playing.

But the Serb has earnings of more than $159 million. This shows how hardworking the nine-time Australian champion is. Also, he is blessed with excellent physical fitness which allowed to play him so well at the professional level for so many years.

The year 2015 was his best season in terms of earnings. He won 11 titles that year but also more than $16 million in prize money. This year despite missing two Grand Slams and a host of other tournaments, he was able to earn more than $5 million in prize money.

Novak Djokovic is 35 years old and is expected that he would keep on playing for some years more. So, the more matches he wins, the more prize money he will earn. It is expected that he will finish his career with maybe around $200 million earned through prize money.
