Novak Djokovic confesses to wrist pain and works towards recovery before the Australian Open
Djokovic, who has always been a monstrous force to deal with on the courts of Australia, finally experiences a loss after 6 whole years. The Serbian was evidently struggling during the game, taking breaks often to ice his right forearm, which might have been a reason for his loss to the youngster.
In the post-match interview also, the Serbian confessed to having wrist pain since the last game and hopes to recover before the Australian Open.
However, this was a huge victory for Alex de Minaur and Team Australia as they overcame a huge hurdle and marched ahead to the next round, the semi-finals. They now face the winner between Greece and Germany. Both teams have done well and Greece just came off a whitewash against Canada courtesy of the combo of Stefanos Tsitsipas and Maria Sakkari.
The tournament gets exciting as teams narrow down to the top 4 and eventually one will emerge victorious. With the Olympics happening later on in the year, this is a great practice for teams to decide on their players to perform at the games.
