Novak Djokovic had a victorious triumph over Karen Khachanov in the quarterfinals of the French Open. The Serbian player will be facing World No. 1 Carlos Alcaraz in the semi-finals of the major. Ahead of their much-awaited clash, Djokovic took the Spaniard for dinner at the famous ‘Siena’ restaurant in Paris.
The 22-time Grand Slam champion had a spectacular start this year. He lifted the trophy at the Australian Open after winning a wonderful battle against Stefanos Tsitsipas. In the Dubai Championships, the Serbian player lost the semi-final match to Daniil Medvedev. With the start of the clay tournaments, Djokovic faced a round-of-16 defeat in the Monte Carlo Masters. In the Banja Luka and Italian Opens, the Australian Open champion exited both tournaments after facing defeat in the quarterfinals.
In the French Open, the 36-year-old has booked his semi-final clash with Alcaraz. While looking at their ATP head-to-head, both players have met only once in their careers. Their first meeting took place at the 2022 Madrid Open, where the Spaniard defeated the World No. 3 in a three-set match. ]
In a highly anticipated meeting between the players, Djokovic and Alcaraz were spotted having a friendly dinner together on Wednesday in Paris. The tennis fans were delighted to see the players as they asked them for autographs and pictures.
Djokovic earlier reached the quarter-finals of the Italian Open but lost the match to the sensational performance of Holger Rune.

Novak Djokovic had been playing impressive tennis at the French Open. The World No. 3 reached the semi-finals of the tournament after defeating Karen Khachanov in a wonderful battle. At the press conference, the Serbian player wished his biggest on-court rival, Rafael Nadal, a speedy recovery after his surgery. He called the Spaniard one of the ‘greatest’ players in the history of sports and wished to see him back in the tennis arena.
“I think that he’s so important for our game on and off the court, one of the greatest legends of tennis in the history of the game. We want to see healthy Rafa, no question about it, playing for what he announced his last season. You know, hopefully, he’s gonna be able to do that,” he said.
Nadal had arthroscopic surgery on his left psoas muscle at the Teknon Clinic in Barcelona. The 37-year-old is expected to take five months for a complete recovery post-surgery. He has been facing injury problems since his early exit from the Australian Open. The Spaniard also withdrew from the French Open and is expected to return to the professional tour by 2024.
