Novak Djokovic ready to face Holger Rune in his first match

As Novak Djokovic gears up to defend his title in Turin, the Serbian will meet Holger Rune in the first group-stage game of the 2023 ATP Finals. The Serbian said he is excited for his game against Rune as he finds the Dane’s game pretty similar to his. He is excited about the fact that Rune is being coached by Boris Becker, who was once on the Serbian’s side. The Serbian also expects his match against Rune to be a hard-fought one as they are meeting for the second time in two weeks.

Boris is a great coach and will do very well with Holger. I won't speak badly of him because he is here to listen… (smiling, ed.). However, Rune and I play similar tennis, we move well and defend well, he is very concrete and like me he shows a lot of energy on the court. I can't wait to face him, having him in the group we will play against him for the second time in a few days, it will certainly be a hard fought match.

If he manages to win it, the Serbian will leave behind Roger Federer in terms of winning most ATP Finals titles.
