The Wimbledon Gentlemen’s Final is filled with nothing but drama. With both Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alacarz having won two sets each, they are now in the final fifth set. This set will give us the 2023 Wimbledon Champion.

This first class game is filled with exceptional action with a hint of over-the-board drama. Djokovic is known for his wit and constant giving back to the ‘booing crowd’, and his frustration at losing a point or a set is quite evident. In the fifth set, with Alcaraz leading 3-1, Djokovic couldn’t believe his silly mistake, letting him lose the round. Djokovic, in all his aggression, smashed his racquet on the net, breaking it.

His nemesis, the crowd, started booing upon witnessing the incident, and he got a warning from the chair umpire. As we are inching towards the end of the tournament, the drama is getting all too intense.

Its all down to the decider set

With the decider set being played right now, the match which is filled with all the drama has seen some exceptional skills as well. With Djokovic dominating Alcaraz in the first set, leading with 6-1. The young Spaniard looked nervous in front of the Serbian maestro.

Through the second set, Alcaraz got his way back, giving a very tough fight to the Serb, taking the set to the tie breaker. Djokovic followed through and tried to match the score, leading in the tie breaker at first but Alcaraz got him and won the set with 7(8)-6(6). Towards the third set, with both the finalist having won one set each, Alcaraz got back with some great energy and stopped Djokovic at one game, winning the set with 6-1.

The third set, one that could have been the championship set for the young player, Djokovic bounced back, showing him why he is known as the Greatest of All Time. With Alcaraz leading with 3 games, the Serb changed the trajectory of the set and won the set with 6-3.
