The Serbian star Novak Djokovic drags fellow legend Roger Federer’s name while replying to Rafael Nadal’s claim that Djokovic would have been more frustrated if the Serbian could not catch the Spaniard’s Grand slam tally. Nadal had earlier talked about the mindset of Novak Djokovic and how different it is from his while talking about the Grand Slam count.
Now Djokovic has given a reply stating how he wants to disagree with Rafael Nadal’s take on his mindset, “I have no intention of speaking in a negative light about him or Roger Federer – my respect towards them supersedes some negative opinions I might have.“
Djokovic continued on how we want to frame his opinion on this which is not the same as that of Rafael Nadal, his biggest rival on the court as he mentioned previously, “Again, that’s Rafa’s opinion and I, of course, don’t agree. I have my opinion, but I won’t share it as I don’t want us to go deeper into that. There is no need for that.” (Source: Tennis Majors)
Novak Djokovic thanks Rafael Nadal for pushing him to the limits
There was a time when Rafael Nadal dominated Novak Djokovic in all the courts. Even now, their Grand slam head-to-head is in favor of Nadal with an 11-7 margin. It was in the 2011 Indian Wells final ceremony that Djokovic called Nadal, the greatest of all time. Djokovic’s respect for Nadal still stays the same even though Djokovic has an edge on the Grand Slam titles now.

As Djokovic said about how Nadal helped him to be a better player, “I’ve seen that his comments went viral, that many people spoke about it. Everyone’s entitled to their own opinion, how he interprets someone else in a certain context etc. That’s all I can say. Rafa is a great champion and I respect and appreciate him as such – as a great champion, my biggest rival and as a player who contributed to shaping my game and to results I’ve accomplished.”
Rafael Nadal is expected to be back on tour next year and his fans are hoping for a magnificent return with big titles to his name. Nadal had only played the Australian Open this year but had undergone a hip injury during the tournament that eventually made him lose the entire season.
