Fans have shared the video of Novak Djokovic and legendary soccer manager Jose Mourinho greeting and hugging each other after the former’s first match at the Internazionali BNL d’Italia. Djokovic faced the Argentinian Tomás Martín Etcheverry and came out victorious. Mourinho is a decorated soccer manager and is considered one of the best in his role. He is renowned as “The Special One” due to his staggering achievement as an iconic soccer manager.
Jose Mourinho, who is currently managing the Italian Serie A club Roma, is a long-time tennis fan. He was frequently seen attending the Queen’s Club and the ATP World Tour Finals when they were held in London. But now the Foro Italico seems to be his preferred venue as his soccer club is based in Rome. Djokovic is also known to be a soccer fan and a supporter of the Italian club AC Milan. He recently attended the UEFA Champions League semi-final match between AC Milan and Inter Milan held at the San Siro.
Jose Mourinho attended Novak Djokovic’s second-round match in the Italian Open 2023. Novak was happy to have won his match in the presence of Mourinho at the Foro Italico. “He’s an avid tennis fan, of course, one of the greatest football coaches that we have not just today but in history. I’m really honored that he’s coming to watch my matches. I really appreciate that,” said Novak Djokovic.
The video showed them sharing a warm greeting and embracing multiple times. Novak Djokovic signed an autograph for Jose Mourinho and had a few words with him. These two titans in their respective areas hold a great deal of regard for one another.
