Novak Djokovic confirmed his intention to forgo the upcoming Canadian Open. The Serbian stated that his decision to withdraw from the event was motivated by the need for a well-deserved break.

Following a tight and emotionally charged struggle at Wimbledon, in which Djokovic lost heartbreakingly to Carlos Alcaraz, the tennis ace stated a wish to take some time off to recuperate. His loss against Alcaraz in the tournament ended his quest for a record 24th Grand Slam victory, but he has vowed to come back better at the US Open.

While Djokovic will miss the Canadian Open, he is preparing for a strong comeback on hard courts at the Cincinnati Open. The tournament, which is set to begin on August 13, will serve as a critical warm-up for the prestigious US Open, which is set to begin on August 28.

While his absence in Canada may upset some fans, his appearance at the Cincinnati Open and subsequent preparations for the US Open provide a preview of the difficult competition that awaits him.
