After having some dismal months regarding his vaccination status, Novak Djokovic was finally in good shape and reached the final of the Serbia Open where Andrey Rublev awaited him. In front of his home supporters in Belgrade, the Serb came back from a set down for the fourth time this week, but ran out of steam in the decider, as Rublev won 6-2 6-7 (4) 6-0 in two hours and 29 minutes.
However, following his setback, the Serb provided an important update on the state of his team. He announced there that a key part of his entourage, one of his physiotherapists, will no longer accompany him on his trip.
“He will mean the world to us”- Novak Djokovic

Following his loss in the Serbia Open final to Andrey Rublev, world No. 1 Novak Djokovic unveiled that one of his physiotherapists, Miljan Amanovic, “will no longer be travelling with him.”
“Miljan has travelled a lot, he has got three kids. Also, we have big plans here in the Novak Tennis Centre, we intend to transform it to the Academy, and Miljan is one of the key people there. I am delighted that he has accepted that role, he will mean the world to us,” Djokovic revealed.
The Serbia Open final was also attended by Marian Vajda, Djokovic’s former coach. Following the match, Djokovic had a ceremony in which he thanked Vajda, Amanovic, and his old fitness coach Gebhard Gritsch. Since the beginning of the year, Vajda has not been a member of the team.
“Marian has travelled a lot as a player, then he coached Dominik Hrbaty and several other players, and then he spent 15 years with me… He is just tired of all the travelling, that is the reason (we split). I am glad we were able to say a proper goodbye here and that I thanked him in front of people in Belgrade,” said Djokovic.
There will be no new additions to the Novak Djokovic’s team

He also said that there will be no new additions to the team, “No, no… It’s Goran (Ivanisevic, tennis coach), Marco (Panichi, fitness coach) and Uli (Badio, physiotherapist).” Nevertheless, The Mutua Madrid Open, which begins on May 1st, is Djokovic’s next visit.
