Novak Djokovic fans showcase their dedication on a daily. From defending his title as the GOAT to his stance on coronavirus vaccination, the Serb’s fans are indomitable. Never to be underestimated, most recently, a fan went to unprecedented lengths to witness Djokovic in action in his home country.
Officials have declared that the tickets for the upcoming Serbian Open have been selling out quite fast. The insurgence in ticket sales has sent fans into a frenzy as a result. Serbian fans are trying their best to acquire tickets for the event in the World No.1‘s home country. Recently, a fan made a shocking proposition on OLX, an online marketplace.
The tournament will place from April 17 onwards. As the native No.1 player, Djokovic, will compete in the ATP 250 tournament, the demand is very high. Additionally, Djokovic is also a two-time champion in Belgrade. According to the officials, more than 200,000 fans are interested in purchasing tickets. One of these fans is determined to grab tickets, come what may.
The fan is proposing to sell a car in exchange for tickets to see the 22-time Grand Slam champion in Banja Luka. Hence, he listed a Volkswagen Golf 7 for Serbian Open tickets. “Do you want to watch the best tennis player in history, and come to the tournament in a Golf 7 with a panoramic roof?” the post stated.
The fan assured potential buyers of the car’s quality and reliability in return for tickets to witness the 35-year-old in action. Djokovic is currently gearing up for the first clay tournament of the season at the Monte Carlo Masters. The Djokovic family, who organizes the event, is attempting to upgrade it to an ATP 500 tournament.

Novak Djokovic to reach 400 weeks on No.1 after reclaiming throne

The No.1 position in the ATP rankings has been going back and forth between Novak Djokovic and Carlos Alcaraz. The honor went to the Spaniard after Djokovic did not compete in the Sunshine Double and Alcaraz won the Indian Wells. However, the 19-year-old’s semi-final loss in Miami handed the position back to the Serb.
Since Alcaraz has withdrawn from the Monte Carlo Masters also, Djokovic will remain as the No.1 seed till the French Open comes around. Novak now starts his 381st week at the top. The 35-year-old is about to achieve a record-breaking total of 400 weeks at No.1 also.
