With the grass season starting, it’s officially the time for the third Major of the season. The 2023 Wimbledon will see the best of both Tours competing for the biggest grass title. Novak Djokovic will be the four-time defending champion in the gentlemen’s singles. Elena Rybakina, who won her first Major title last year, will defend her crown in ladies’ singles. On the gentlemen’s side, Djokovic has once again found himself in a great situation in terms of creating records.

He’s won both the Australian and the French Open this year and is looking for his third Major in 2023. A win in Wimbledon will see him achieve the Surface Slam, winning Majors on each surface. He will also be able to achieve the Channel Slam, winning the French Open and Wimbledon in the same season having already achieved it before. The biggest of all would, however, be him being in contention for the Calendar Slam, winning all Majors in one season.

With seven titles at Wimbledon to his name, he is just one short of Roger Federer‘s all-time tally of eight titles at the Championships. He trails Martina Navratilova by two titles going into this year’s Championships with the American record holder with her nine wins in Wimbledon. Already a legend at Wimbledon, it was disappointing to see the Serb missing from an official Wimbledon poster for the new edition.

It is, however, speculated the poster is only for stars of Rolex. But Djokovic was a notable absentee from a promotional video uploaded by Wimbledon on Instagram as well.

It does not come out as a surprise anymore that Novak Djokovic isn’t respected enough. The Serb has achieved almost all possible feats in the world of tennis. Not only individually, but he has also helped Serbia to team titles with wins in the Davis Cup and the now-discontinued ATP Cup. Despite his best efforts, his constant snubbing is now getting irritating for his fans.

As the poster and the promotional video went viral on social media, the NoleFam did not hold back from criticizing Wimbledon’s authorities. They made their opinions heard on Twitter with some hot takes on Wimbledon in support of their star.

Wimbledon has, however, saved face by featuring Djokovic on their cover photo on the official Twitter handle. Carlos Alcaraz is still however placed before the Serb followed by Roger Federer and the legendary Pete Sampras. Similarly, Elena Rybakina finds her place after Coco Gauff with Serena Williams and Steffi Graf following the Kazakh.
