“Do you ever stop whining?” – Novak Djokovic fans get BASHED on social media for complaining about US Open’s scheduling as the Serb is set to play Taylor Fritz on a ‘hot’ Wednesday morning

Novak Djokovic has advanced to the quarterfinals, where he will play American favorite Taylor Fritz. The soon-to-be World No. 1 will meet World No. 9 and American No. 1 on Tuesday at 1:15 p.m. (ET).

Many supporters on X (formerly known as Twitter) have expressed their discontent with the match’s scheduling. Some believe that the timing was chosen on purpose so that Djokovic would have to play in 33-degree heat. 

Some believe that the second quarterfinal match between Frances Tiafoe and Ben Shelton should have been moved away from prime-time television. Because both players are Americans, they have been assigned an 8:15 p.m. (ET) time window. The fans have claimed that Djokovic’s match is more important because he is ranked higher and that they are attempting to sabotage him.

The timing has received a lot of backlash from many individuals due to its inconvenient nature. There has been a lot of criticism directed at the US Open for their bias towards American players in their tournament. Djokovic’s match should be scheduled for the evening slot as it is believed that it is the more important match and it is more convenient for the player to play during the evening hours.

There is, however, a group of tennis fans who are calling out Djokovic’s fans for constantly whining and complaining about the most minute details of the tournament. They believe that fans always victimize Djokovic and try to paint him as an easy target. Previously the fans were complaining about the Serb only getting night matches which rendered him tired. Now they are also seen complaining about the day match.

While a few of the fans are calling out the US Open for their poor scheduling and baseness towards Americans, there is also a section that has noted that the World No. 2’s fans are never satisfied with anything.

There is no doubt that the match, regardless of the timing, will be a thrill to watch. However, the fans make the situation even more interesting with their outlandish theories.

The Serbian ace has made it to the quarterfinals by defeating qualifier Borna Gojo 6-2, 7-5, 6-4 while Fritz defeated Swiss player Dominic Stricker in straight sets. The winner of this match will end up earning a place in the semi-finals of the US Open.
