The World No. 1 Novak Djokovic was spotted in his first practice session on the clay courts ahead of the Monte Carlo Masters. As the tour wraps up the Sunshine Double, it will soon head towards the season of clay, gearing up for the French Open. 

Novak Djokovic, who had suffered one of his worst losses at the Indian Wells Masters, took some time out to prepare well for the clay season. Having registered for the Monte Carlo Open, the Serbian withdrew from the Miami Open to prepare thoroughly for the next tournament and win his first title of the season.

The video of Djokovic preparing on the clay courts was released on X. As he set his eyes on a third title in Monaco, the World No.1 was seen hitting some shots. The Monte Carlo Masters is one of the three ATP 1000 tournaments played on clay, leading up to the French Open

Djokovic will be seen in the tournament alongside another tennis giant Rafael Nadal, who is also set to make a comeback after a delayed return to tennis. Even the defending champion, Andrey Rublev, will be present, along with the other youngsters.

Djokovic has had a quiet year so far. He remains titleless, as the youngsters in the game continuously knock him out of the game. However, that hasn’t stopped the Serbian from continue to make history while not playing that well.

Djokovic has now passed 418 weeks as World No.1, which is twice as many weeks as any other current ATP player. Right now, only Rafael Nadal is somewhat close to the Serbian with 209 weeks as No.1. Other than these two tennis giants, no other active player has crossed the 100-week mark. 

Hungry for more, Djokovic has been spotted training ahead of the Monte Carlo Open, as the tournament is set to commence on the 7th of April. This will be the tournament’s 118th edition.
