He also had to withdraw from a couple of Masters tournaments for the same reasons. While many believe that Novak lost valuable time during this time, commentator Stubbs believes the opposite.

The former World No. 1 believes that Djokovic extended his career when he wasn’t allowed to play those few tournaments.

Let's be realistic, the pandemic, the vaccine, and the fact of not being able to play certain tournaments like three or four Grand Slams that he should have played and that he probably would have won, but you know what which I think gave it longevity.
Said the former player on her podcast

Continuing further, she added:

Even more longevity because he was resting his body for a period of that time. So I think that helped him in some way. But I'm sure he probably would have loved to play.

Djokovic has since done well to make his presence truly felt on the court and make sure that his name echoes around the sporting industry. He returned to win back-to-back Grand Slam titles, as he never left.

Novak Djokovic praised for his great scheduling by Rennae Stubbs

Novak Djokovic has been an example for the youngsters for a long time. From his attitude on the court to his scheduling, he has been an inspiration for the youngsters.

Stubbs believes that Rudd is playing many inconsequential games without proper spaces between tournaments, unlike the 36-year-old, who has spaced his tournaments equally and plays according to their importance while keeping his body in mind.

Novak Djokovic has returned to tennis after his ban to win back-to-back Grand Slams, multiple ATP tournaments, and even finish the year on a high. He ended the year at No. 1 and even won the ATP Finals

However, this is not the last time fans can witness the Serb this year; he will now feature in an exhibition tournament in Saudi Arabia. He is all set to face Carlos Alcaraz in the concluding days of December.
