Novak Djokovic was in quite a mood during his first match of the 2023 Paris Masters. The Serb took on Tomas Martin Etcheverry in the round of 32 in the ongoing tournament and defeated the Argentine quite effortlessly. He ended up winning the match 6-3, 6-2 to proceed to the round of 16 with ease.

The Serb did not seem to be under pressure at any point in the match and was, in fact, having fun with the crowd. At one point in the match, when he was on the big screen, Djokovic took off his shirt and flexed his muscles in front of the crowd. A video of the same was shared on social media and it went viral in no time. People started calling Novak ‘the ultimate showman’ for the Paris crowd.

Novak Djokovic does not always have such positive and fun interactions with the crowd during his tournaments. The Serb is famously known to thrive on the booes and hate of the crowd, and he loves interacting with such fans and proving them wrong with his performances.

Thus, scenes of him gesturing at the fans to be quiet after winning points, sets, or matches are very common. However, this fun interaction between him and the Paris crowd was a respite from that.

The 36-year-old is the top seed in the tournament and the favorite to win it. He has just returned after taking a break following his 2023 US Open victory and seems to be all set to win the title. It must be noted that the Serb has a good record at the Paris Masters. He won the 2021 Paris Masters and was a runner-up in the 2022 Paris Masters.

Novak Djokovic faces Tallon Griekspoor in the round of 16 of the Paris Masters

Novak Djokovic will face Tallon Griekspoor of the Netherlands in the round of 16 of the Paris Masters 2023. Griekspoor has been having a pretty good campaign in the tournament so far. He defeated Chris Eubanks in the first round and Davidovich Fokina in the second round of the tournament. He might give a strong opposition to Novak in the round of 16.

However, the Serb remains the favorite in the tournament. Especially now that Carlos Alcaraz, the second seed of Paris Master 2023, has been knocked out of the tournament in the very first round, Novak’s path to the title is clear.

However, the likes of Jannik Sinner and Daniil Medvedev will now be the two main threats in front of the Serb.
