With the brand of tennis Novak Djokovic has been playing through the years, he has earned himself a lot of well-wishers and followers in the world. Top tennis prospect Carlos Alcaraz has been a pivotal character at the helm of tennis in recent times. His coach Juan Carlos Ferrero has recently given his views on Djokovic’s place in the history of the sport.
Ferrero talked about how Djokovic should now be more in debate with Roger Federer and Rafael Nadal regarding the GOAT debate. He added that Novak’s records speak volumes about his domination and contribution to the sport. He said,
“With Djokovic's numbers, there is no debate. You may like Rafa more, you may like Roger’s style more, but in terms of numbers the best in history is Novak."
Speaking further, Ferrero said,
"I’m not surprised by his Grand Slam success. He is a player who lives for tennis & achieving results at the highest level. Everything he does is to be physically perfect. From food, to rest... To be very good at something you have to excel a lot in certain things. It is very difficult, today, to want to have a life parallel to training & professionalism.. to dedicate just enough to tennis. It has to be the other way around. Djokovic, in that, is the best.”
