Organizers of the upcoming Monte Carlo Masters announced that Rafael Nadal, a 22-time Grand Slam champion, will be making a comeback after recovering from a hip flexor injury. Nadal had been forced to take a break from the game following his defeat to Mackenzie McDonald in the second round of the Australian Open, where he had aggravated the said injury. The tournament is set to start on April 8 and will take place on clay courts.

Djokovic kicked off his 2023 season on a high note, winning both the Adelaide International and the 2023 Australian Open. However, he faced defeat in the semifinals of the Dubai Tennis Championships at the hands of Daniil Medvedev.
While Nadal will be playing for his record-breaking 12th title, Djokovic will be eyeing on his third. It will be the first tournament in which both the 22-time Grand Slam title champions play together since the Australian Open.
On one hand, the Serbian was denied entry into the U.S. to play the Indian Wells and Miami Open despite being fit. While on the other hand, Nadal suffered an injury during the Major and was recovering since then. Fans are excited to know that their two favorite stars will be playing again after a while and also wish to see them play against each other.
