Miljan Amanovic has been a key member of Novak Djokovic’s team and a vital force in the rise of the Serb. Amanovic started working with Djokovic back in 2007 as a physio and has been working with him barring the small period in 2017 when the Serb decided to let go of his entire team.
In the same year, Amanovic suffered a heart attack, which, according to him, was caused by the stress of full-time travel on the ATP Tour and competitions.
I survived a severe heart attack. I was resuscitated four times. Now I can say that it was God’s will in the true sense of the word. After the physio recovered fully, he said
Ever since, Amanovic lessened his workload and has stopped working as a traveling physiotherapist. However, he still attends some of the few important tournaments alongside Novak Djokovic. And was also present during the Australian Open, which concluded last month.
This entire episode of Amanovic and Djokovic is revealed in the new book titled ‘Novak Djokovic: The Greatest of All Time.” The book is scheduled to be released on February 29th.
Novak Djokovic offered new role to Miljan Amanovic
After Amanovic’s full-time recovery, Nole offered the physio a different role at the Novak Tennis Centre in Belgrade. Amanovic happily accepted the offer and, ever since, has been a key member in the growth of the tennis center.
Miljan has travelled a lot, he has got three kids. Also, we have big plans here in the Novak Tennis center, we intend to transform it to an Academy. And Miljan is one of the key people there.Regarding this Nole said
Djokovic has stated multiple times during his interviews that Amanovic is one of the most important personalities on his team. The Serb is currently away from the court after his loss to Jannik Sinner at the semis of the Australian Open. However, he is reported to return to Indian Wells next month.
