Serbian tennis superstar Novak Djokovic has emerged as a new man after his heartbreaking Wimbledon final loss. Having since taken some much-needed rest by skipping the Canadian Open, the 23-time major champion was seen at training while sporting a full bushy beard.
Novak Djokovic was aiming for a fifth consecutive and eighth overall title at the championships at Wimbledon this year. With a fairly straightforward path to the final, it seemed all but certain that Djokovic would take home the title yet again. However, as fate would have it, he lost to first-time Wimbledon finalist Carlos Alcaraz in the final. The match was considered by many as the changing of the guard between the legends of yesterday and the stars of tomorrow.
While the Wimbledon final may definitely have hurt, Djokovic seems pumped to get back on tour and play with some newfound energy. He will get back to on-court action at the upcoming Cincinnati Masters.
A few months back, U.S. President Joe Biden announced the relaxation of the COVID-19 restrictions against visiting the country without vaccination proof. This makes it all the more certain that Djokovic will make his appearance at the US Open this year, having missed it in 2022. Whether he will shave prior to the tournament remains a mystery.
