World No. 2 Novak Djokovic is one of those players that the world expects big things from at the ongoing Wimbledon and he has hardly put a foot wrong in his hunt for a straight fifth successive title. He was due to face Hubert Hurkacz in the round of 16 matchup. As with every match he also went up to this as the clear favorite, playing like one as well, picking up the first two sets despite both going to tie breaks.
But just after the second set was done, the match umpire decided to suspend the match and postpone the rest of the match for the following day leaving some fans and pundits clearly disappointed and unsatisfied. The next day Djokovic lost the third set with many stating the reason as a disruption of concentration caused by the stoppage of play the previous day. Though Djokovic won the match he was asked during the press conference on whether he would want the matches to start at 1:30 PM.
Djokovic agreed that the curfew was spoiling the beauty of the game and shared his view saying, “I think so. I agree with that. Obviously, curfew is probably something that is much more difficult to change, I understand, because of the community and the residential area we are in. I think the matches could be pushed at least to start at 12:00. I think it would make a difference.”
How are the fans and pundits reacting to this new approach of Wimbledon?

The fans are really unhappy with the idea of leaving games unfinished and postponing them to the following day which they believe is ruining the beauty and purity of the sport. Fans who are traveling from different parts of the world trying to get their golden ticket for a chance to witness and experience the atmosphere of this historic competition are quite unhappy to not get a chance to watch a complete match.
Many pundits have also slammed this new approach of the All England Club and want the board to have a hard discussion and come up with a better conclusion. Many feel that the starting time of matches which is set at 1:30 PM is causing all the issues and moving the starting time shall fix the problems of suspension.
