Trungelliti discussed his personal life when he was accused of match-fixing. He was approached and offered up to $100,000 to fix a match at the ATP Tour level. But he inadvertently refused to take up this opportunity and complained to the Tennis Integrity Unit (TIU).

His complaints led to the ban of many of his contemporaries, and he despite doing an appreciable task, was called a ‘snitch’. He disclosed, “It was hard as time went by. I began to realize the mess I had gotten myself into. It’s like I began to experience everything that was seen in the movies.”

After the incident, the Argentine left his country. He recently returned to Buenos Aires and he shared the profound impact the entire incident had on his life and how it took a toll on his mental health.
