British tennis player Greg Rudeski recently made a massive claim while praising Novak Djokovic for winning his 24th Grand Slam at the 2023 US Open. The former World No. 4 said that not only is Novak Djokovic the best tennis player in the world, but he is also the best athlete of all time, tied with American NFL legend Tom Brady, who has seven Super Bowls to his name.

As per Gred Rusedski himself, Novak Djokovic deserves to be named the greatest of all time without even having to debate it. The Briton said that there is perhaps only one sports personality who can compete with him, and that is NFL player Tom Brady, who has won seven championships.

“For me, Novak is the best athlete on the planet today, in all sports. I don’t care what sport you’re talking about. His consistency, what he does on the court, and what he does at his age – no one has done that before other than Tom Brady with his Super Bowl wins,” said Greg. (H/T: We Love Tennis)

Greg Rusedski further went on to say that Novak Djokovic perhaps wants to win 27–28 Grand Slam titles to set himself apart from the pack. Currently, he is tied with Margaret Court with 24 Grand Slams, and he definitely wants to have the most Grand Slams in the history of tennis, irrespective of gender. Rusedski also hopes that Novak Djokovic wins the 2024 Paris Olympics next year.

Novak Djokovic might break Margaret Court’s record soon

Margaret Court held the record for the most Grand Slams won by a man or woman ever in the sport of tennis. It was matched a few weeks ago by Novak Djokovic, who lifted his 24th Grand Slam at the US Open 2023, exactly 50 years to the day after Court won her 24th Major title. Djokovic already holds the record for most Grand Slams ever won by a men’s player in the Open Era, and he now eyes Margaret Court’s record as well.

The Serb only needs one more Grand Slam to replace Margaret Court completely as the sole record holder. Seeing the hunger that the 36-year-old still has for winning majors, it seems like that is his very next goal. After the 2023 US Open, Novak Djokovic has already made it pretty clear that he has absolutely no plans to stop anytime soon.
